We’d like to wish everybody a Happy New Year, and while we’re at it, let’s remind everybody that classes begin once again on the week of January 9th. For beginner and advanced students alike, the “Fundamentals” class is on Wednesday, starting at 7PM – arrive early to register. For those of Companion rank and above, Monday, January 9th is the first day of class.

Since it’s the New Year, everything old is new again, and so we look forward to seeing both old and new faces in the sala!

Despite the “official” start dates outlined in the City’s guide, I want to assure people that the curriculum is structured so that new students can join the fundamentals classes at any time throughout the semester. The fees will be adjusted pro-rata to reflect the start date.

And for those of you who just want to come by and sit in or participate in a practice, by all means, come and visit us! Our doors are always open. Fundamentals classes are from 7:00 – 8:30 every Wednesday night at the Richelieu Vanier Community Centre, 300 Avenue des Pères Blancs, Ottawa.

Tomorrow`s class will include introductory material such as footwork, falling and basic wrestling plays. See you there!

Les Maîtres d’Armes will be opening its doors to the public and holding its first open house on Wednesday, September 7th, from 7:30 to 9:30. Everyone is welcome to come, participate, look around, examine the weapons and armor, do some sample drills and talk to students and instructors alike.  The event will take place at our usual training location, 300 avenue Des Pères Blancs in Ottawa.
